The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Chhattisgarh raided the office of Additional Director General of Police Gurjinder Pal Singh on Friday. Over the last two days, raids have discovered Rs 5 crore worth of moveable and immovable goods.
According to reports, more than 75 insurance policies in the names of Singh, his wife, and his kid have been found, each with a high price. Aside from that, Singh made one FUF account. The account’s revenue and spending have yet to be determined. Singh also has many bank and post office accounts, according to the investigation.
On 35 occasions, a large sum of money was found to have been put in stocks and mutual funds, according to the inquiry. According to reports, more than Rs 1.5 crore has been invested in stocks and mutual funds so far.
Commercial vehicles worth Rs 75 lakhs, including a JCB concrete mixer, were discovered in the name of relatives, according to sources. Documents relating to land and flat investments in Chhattisgarh and other states have also been discovered. According to the inquiry, almost Rs 1 crore was placed in the bank account of a Singh relative from several firms. The investigation team has yet to find the DVR or CCTV cameras installed at Singh’s home.
Singh has amassed disproportionate and unlawful assets worth crores in several areas, including Raipur, Bhilai, Rajnandgaon, and Odisha, according to the inquiry. He also attempted to launder money through the use of shell businesses. In this case, a large number of people are being questioned. The raids haven’t stopped yet.
Since June last year, Singh, a 1994 batch Indian Police Service officer who previously served as ADG in the ACB and Economic Offenses Wing, has been the director of the state police school. This is the first time the ACB has taken action against an IPS officer in the state. Until a year ago, ADGP GP Singh was the chief of the anti-corruption agency. The government took him away from there and put him to the Police Academy. Singh also served as the Inspector General of Police at Raipur, Bilaspur, and Durg.
