After allegedly being attacked by two cops for failure to meet COVID-19 guidelines, a 50-year-old man who owned haircutting rooms in Maharashtra’s Aurangabad died. Following his death, people assembled at the Osmanpura police station for justice against cops in large numbers.

The deceased was known as Feroz Khan, 50 years of age, according to sources. In breach of restrictions introduced following the rising COVID-19 events, his salon will reportedly be kept open. The members of his family and staff said the suspected breach was assaulted by Subinspector Pravin Wagh and constable Sandeep Bharme. Khan slipped on the shutter of the living room and lost consciousness amid the turmoil. He was shattered to a hospital of the government, where medics said that he was dead.

The family of Khan took his body to the police station of Osmanpura and requested a murder case against the two police officers to be registered. News quickly spread over social media, which led people from various parts of the city to crow the police station,” the Times of India reports.

The alleged case of police brutality has sparked tension in the area. A large number of people have demanded action against the cops.

After obtaining details Aurangabad mp Imtiaz Jaleel and Nikhil Gupta police commissioner came running to the police station and calmed down the protestors after which the deceased’s body was transmitted for postmortem examination to the State Medical College and to Hospital. The inspector Dilip Tare, SI Pravin Wagh, and the constable Sandeep Bharme were moved to the control room and an unbiased investigation was ordered, under the direction of criminal office inspector Avinash Aghav.

It can be noted that the Maharashtra government has declared tough ‘lock-down restrictions on winding down the transmission of coronavirus on Wednesday at 8 p.m. According to the government order, all the critical facilities including medical stores and hospitals will continue to operate.
