The Burhanpur police has show caused its the sub-inspector accused of taken a dip in river Ganga with the accused in handcuffed recently.

This act of the cops amounts to dereliction of the duty, according to the official source.

A team of cops from Lalbagh police station in Burhanpur went to Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh to arrest a man accused in a cheating case, the sources said.

The authorities received the information that the team of cops while on their way back to Burhanpur has taken dip in the Ganga river with the accused at Prayagraj, the official said.

Therefore a show cause notice is issued to the cops, the official said.

The police team should have directly reported to the police station after arrest.

The sources said the notice is served to sub inspector K Patil of Lalbagh police station who was leading the team to Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh.

Some person shot a video of the cops team taking dip in the river with the accused handcuffed came to the information of the authorities that led to the action, sources said.
