The Punjab government on Friday delegated senior supporter Deepinder Singh Patwalia as new backer general (AG) instead of APS Deol who had surrendered on November 1 following interest for his ouster by state Congress boss Navjot Singh Sidhu

A help matters attorney, 47-year-old Patwalia is the child of previous Supreme Court judge Kuldeep Singh. A former student of Panjab University, he was assigned as a senior supporter by the Punjab and Haryana high court in 2014.
