Madhya Pradesh Ease of Doing Business Conclave-2023 was inaugurated by Principal Secretary Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Shri Sanjay Shukla at Kushabhau Thakre Convention Center. MD MPIDC Dr. Navneet Mohan Kothari, Chairman CII Bhopal Zone Shri Siddharth Agarwal were present on the occasion.

Principal Secretary Shukla said that Madhya Pradesh is one of the leading states in the country in terms of ease of doing business. Favorable environment is being provided to industrialists to set-up industries in Madhya Pradesh.

Madhya Pradesh is an agricultural state. Numerous agricultural products here are famous not only in the country but also in the world. Basmati rice, sharbati wheat, gram and other products of the state are being exported to the country and abroad. Wheat was exported to Ukraine.

Many dedicated zones like Medical Device Park, Leather Park, Electronic Power Device Park etc. are being developed in the state. Madhya Pradesh has better facilities for transport and logistics.

Many national corridors like Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Nagpur are passing through MP. Apart from this, the industrial policy is being simplified to the maximum and attention is also being paid to its easy implementation. The purpose of this conclave is to provide a suitable platform for discussions between industries and concerned departments on simplification of procedures.

MD, MPIDC Dr. Navneet Mohan Kothari said that the fruitful suggestions received in the conclave would be incorporated in the Ease of Doing Business Policy. Under the Ease of Doing Business, the state has made several reforms, including exemption of industries from approval and inspection for a period of 3 years, start your business in 30 days, decriminalization of penal provisions under various Acts and Rules. The state has also played a leading role in this. Reforms initiated by Government of India like Business Reform Action Plan, simplification of compliance process, onboarding to National Single Window System etc. have been implemented. In the conclave, Principal Secretary Shri Shukla and other guests released the booklet “Madhya Pradesh EODB (Ease of Doing Business) Initiatives”.

In the conclave, information was given about the steps taken by the state government to improve the business environment and attract investment. Interactive sessions were held between industrialists and senior officers of departments providing important services for the establishment and functioning of industries. Senior officials from NITI Aayog, Department for Industry Promotion and Internal Affairs, DPIIT, Government of India, Panchayat and Rural Development, Urban Development and Housing, Energy, Commercial Taxes, Revenue, Labour, State Pollution Control Board, Food and Civil Supplies and MSME Departments interacted with the industrialists, listened to their problems and welcomed their suggestions.

EODB clinic stalls were set up for each department in the conclave, where industrialists sought guidance and solution to their problems.

Rupesh Singh, Senior Expert, NITI Aayog, Deepali Rastogi, Principal Secretary, Department of Commercial Taxes and Excise, MSME Secretary and Industries Commissioner, P. Narhari, Principal Secretary Labour, Sachin Sinha, Joint Controller, Food and Drug Administration, Maya Awasthi, MD MP Power Management Company Limited and Secretary Energy Raghuraj M. Rajendran, Director DPIIT Central Government Supriya Devasthali, Former President CII Anurag Srivastava, Deputy Secretary Urban Development and Housing K.V.S. Chowdhary and Member Secretary MP Pollution Control Board Chandramohan Thakur apprised about the innovations being done by their respective departments in various sessions.
