Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that people’s representatives should earn the respect of the people by serving the people. On the basis of his long experience, Chief Minister Chouhan gave tips for success in public life in a one-day training session for newly elected public representatives of urban bodies from all the districts of the state.

He said that it is necessary to remain active with enthusiasm while remaining humble and egoless. Common people have a lot of expectations from the public representatives.

Therefore, keeping patience, it is necessary to listen to the problems of the people and make every possible effort to solve them and remain in dialogue with the public.

Chief Minister Chouhan announced to double the honorarium and allowance of mayor, chairman, vice-chairman, chairman and councilor of urban bodies.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the newly elected public representatives should be aware and inquisitive. Know and understand the government schemes and work according to the rules and procedures. Do what you say, but don’t do anything or use words that affect your reputation. Chief Minister Chouhan said that every poor person needs a place to live. The state government is making every possible effort for that. The poor who were living in the state till December 31, 2020, will be given the lease of that place.

Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the training session of newly elected office bearers of urban bodies at Motilal Nehru Stadium today.

Chief Minister Chouhan has said that work should be done with the cooperation of all to make the cities of urban bodies clean, beautiful and better in terms of civic amenities. An amount of Rs 80 lakh each will be provided to the newly formed urban bodies for various works. Rs 770 crore will be provided for repair and improvement of roads in urban areas, Rs 1 crore each for decoration of office buildings and development of facilities. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the urban bodies should develop a new work culture. There is a series of all posts from Chief Minister to Councillor. We have to stop the irregularities and give priority to the welfare of the general public.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that special attention should be paid to the quality of works by the urban bodies. Only good agencies and contractors doing the best work should be given the responsibility of construction works. The works of infrastructure development in the cities should be completed within the time limit. From tap connection to distribution of ration and other civic amenities, priority should be given on time. The urban bodies should play an active role in the good implementation of schemes related to the welfare of the people.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that from the welfare of street vendors to providing assistance to the beneficiaries from the Urban Livelihood Mission, about 38 types of schemes are implemented. The officials of the urban bodies should be alert and active to provide their benefits to the eligible beneficiaries.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that camps of the Chief Minister’s public service campaign were organized recently. These camps were organized in the wards in the urban areas as well. From making ration cards to providing Ujjwala Yojana and pension amount, it should be ensured. No one should be deprived of their benefits.

Chief Minister Chouhan urged that the elected officials should visit the ward and get information about the deprived beneficiaries and get them benefited. If the work of getting the beneficiaries to fill the forms and controlling the people who create disturbances continues, then the elected officials will make a place in the hearts of the people.

Joint responsibility from councilor to chief minister is important

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the elected office bearers of the urban bodies are my hands, feet, eyes and ears. The joint responsibility of everyone from the councilor to the Chief Minister is important. The work of the bodies will be better only when we all work together. Full cooperation of citizens should be taken in the development of cities. If Indore city can become the cleanest city of the country for 6 times, then other urban bodies can also make efforts in this direction.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the urban bodies have to keep the arrangement of Ranbasera in winter. Along with food and rest, arrangements for warm clothes and bonfire should also be made available to the people living in these.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the urban bodies have an important role in protecting the environment and in the development of the environment. Sapling plantation work should be done after fixing a place in your city. Citizens should be motivated to plant saplings on birthdays, marriage anniversaries and in the memory of departed relatives. Also do the work of making your city safe. The environment should be such that daughters can leave the house even at night. The respect of daughters should be ensured. Chief Minister Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is the first state where it has been decided to punish those who hurt the honor of daughters and sisters. 79 such misdemeanors have been sentenced to death in the state.

12 thousand crore rupees spent on the work of providing water to every house

Chief Minister Chouhan said that an amount of Rs. 12 thousand crore will be spent to provide clean drinking water from every house under the AMRUT Yojana. In those cities where there is no adequate provision of sewerage system and drinking water, works should be done on priority. An amount of Rs. 4900 crore will be spent on various arrangements in the cities under the Swachh Bharat Mission. Similarly, an amount of Rs. 5 thousand crore will be spent in the Chief Minister’s Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme. Work will be done fast in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). Ropeways will be constructed in 14 cities under the Smart City Mission. These include Ujjain Nagar, where passengers will be able to reach Shri Mahakal Lok directly from Akash Marg after reaching the railway station by train. In view of the increasing congestion on the roads in the cities, new options will be adopted for traffic.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that under the Deendayal Rasoi Yojana, the urban bodies also have to undertake the work of providing full meals to the needy citizens at the cost of Rs. 5 or Rs. 10. This work should be done in every urban body.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that action will be taken to fill the vacant posts of CMO. Cadre formation and promotion arrangements will also be done for them. In the event of untimely death of a sweeper of urban bodies, the amount of assistance given from Rs. 2 lakh will be increased to Rs. 5 lakh. Chief Minister Chouhan inaugurated the Son Chirraya fair and departmental exhibition at the venue. He observed the exhibition and stalls set up by the self-help groups and discussed with the members of the group.

Important announcements made by the Chief Minister

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the honorarium and allowances of public representatives of urban bodies have been doubled. In municipal corporations with a population of more than one million, at present the mayor is getting honorarium of Rs. 11,000, hospitality allowance of Rs 2,500, chairman Rs 9,000, hospitality allowance of Rs 1,400 and councilors Rs 6,000 per month. The mayor of municipal corporations with less than ten lakh population is getting honorarium of Rs 11,000, hospitality allowance of Rs 2,500, president of Rs 9,000, hospitality allowance of Rs 1,400 and councilor Rs 6,000.

In Nagar Palika Parishad, president is getting honorarium of Rs.3000, hospitality allowance of Rs.1800, vice-president’s honorarium of Rs.2400, hospitality allowance of Rs.800 and councilor is getting Rs.1800. In the Municipal Council, the president gets honorarium of Rs.2400, honorarium of Rs.1100, vice president of honorarium of Rs.2100, honorarium of Rs.800 and corporator Rs.1400 at present. All these honorarium and allowances have been doubled.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Rs 770 crore will be given for the reconstruction of roads in urban areas of the state. An empowered Chief Municipal Officer will be appointed on the vacant posts of Chief Municipal Officers in the urban bodies. Under the group insurance scheme for cleaning workers, now Rs 5 lakh will be given instead of Rs 2 lakh on accidental death. An amount of Rs 1 crore each will be given to the newly formed 35 urban bodies without buildings for the construction of buildings. They will also be given Rs 80 lakh each for infrastructure development. Mukhyamantri Antyodaya Deendayal Rasoi Yojana will be started in all the cities. 12 thousand 800 crore rupees will be started in the AMRUT scheme for the availability of water in every house and approved sewerage projects in the cities.

Incentive grant on notable achievement

Chief Minister Chouhan gave incentive grants and honors to the urban bodies which have made remarkable achievements in revenue collection and cleanliness. He gave an incentive grant of Rs 30 lakh to Narmadapuram, Rs 20 lakh to Mandsaur and Rs 15 lakh to Vidisha, an urban body with a population of more than one lakh, on remarkable revenue collection. An incentive grant of Rs 30 lakh was given to Raghogarh, an urban body with a population of less than one lakh, Rs 20 lakh to Shajapur and Rs 15 lakh to Maihar.

Similarly, 15 lakh 50 thousand were given to Mahugaon, 10 lakh to Rau and 5 lakh each to Dhamnod, Shamgarh and Manasa, urban bodies with more than 25 thousand population. An incentive grant of Rs 15 lakh 50 thousand was given to Uchera, Rs 10 lakh to Barkuhi and Rs 5 lakh each to Virsinghpur, Khajuraho and Badamalhara, urban bodies with less than 25 thousand population.

Chief Minister Chouhan inaugurated the national award winning urban bodies Indore, Bhopal, Ujjain, Chhindwara, Mungawali, Khurai, Khajuraho, Mhow Cantt, Obaidullaganj, Phupkalan, Petlawad, Barauni, Bhind, Bina, Etawah, Malajkhand, Lavkush Nagar, Budhni. And honored Tendukheda.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh said that the Chief Minister has set an example in sensitivity and problem solving. He said that 1761 corporators elected from 6924 wards of 372 civic bodies are below 35 years of age. When the youth will engage in public service, the pace of development of the state will increase rapidly. For the first time in the country, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan gave 50 percent reservation to women in urban bodies and panchayats in Madhya Pradesh. He told that out of 7321 wards in 393 civic bodies, 3452 councilors are from other backward classes.

Singh said that due to the resolution of Chief Minister Chouhan, despite the decision of the Supreme Court, reservation has been ensured for OBCs in the state. Shri Singh said that it is necessary to update oneself with new thinking, approach, new measures and techniques. After this training session you will leave full of new ideas and new energy.

He said that we have Prime Minister Narendra Modi as our role model and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan who resides in the heart. Indore’s Govardhan plant is the result of the government’s innovation. Along with the duties of a public servant, the Chief Minister has also added service to nature. He has planted 1852 trees at different places from 23 February 2021 till now. Every day, wherever they live, they definitely plant a tree. He said that the newly elected public representatives can play an important role in taking the welfare schemes of the state government to the last person.

Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing OPS Bhadauria said that all public representatives have to implement the mantra given by the Chief Minister to make the local bodies self-reliant and improve the environment.

He said that the Chief Minister has worked as an angel during the Corona period. Bhadoria said that Madhya Pradesh has secured first position in various schemes of urban development.

Principal Secretary Urban Development and Housing Neeraj Mandloi said that cities have become the axis of education and development. The challenge of planned development of the city is in front. He said that newly elected public representatives and departments will work together and create a new model of urban development.
