During a sector commander-level meeting between the Border Security Force and the Pakistan Rangers today, India expressed strong opposition to Pakistani drone activity in the Jammu region, sources said.

According to a BSF spokesman, the meeting was conducted at the request of Pakistan Rangers at the International Border in the Suchetgarh region, and it was resolved to re-energize rapid contact between field commanders, if necessary, to address operational problems.

Commanders of both border guarding forces addressed a variety of topics, with the BSF delegation focusing on Pakistani drone activity, terrorist activities, tunnel-digging from across the border, and other border management concerns, he added.

According to the officials, BSF representatives made a strong protest over Pakistani drone activity in the Jammu area.

At the same time, both sides pledged to keep the border peaceful and harmonious, according to them.

“It was the first sector commander level meeting between two border guarding forces after the declaration of the ceasefire agreement by DGMOs (in February),” the spokesperson said.

“The meeting was held in a cordial, positive, and constructive atmosphere and both sides agreed on an expeditious implementation of the decisions taken in the earlier DG-level talks and committed to each other to maintain peace and harmony at the IB,” he said.
