Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that it is a joyous day for Madhya pradesh as the approval of ken-betwa link project will bring relief to the region of Bundelkhand.

Bundelkhand has witnessed significant development but its prime need remained water which will be fulfilled by ken-betwa link project. It is the campaign to transform the scenario of Bundelkhand.

This project will irrigate 10 lakh 62 thousand hectare area and provide drinking water to approximately 62 lakh people.

Simultaneously, 103 megawatt hydro power and 27 megawatt capacity solar plant will also be installed.

Chief Minister Chouhan has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving the Ken-Betwa Link Project.

Two power projects of 72 megawatt capacity are also proposed in the project

Chief Minister Chouhan said that two power projects are also proposed in the project, whose capacity is 72 megawatt. Electricity, irrigation water, drinking water and water for industries will be available to Bundelkhand.

The irrigation capacity in Madhya Pradesh was only seven and a half lakh hectares till the year 2003-04, which has increased to 47 lakh hectares and work is going on to increase it to 65 lakh hectares.

With this, irrigation facility will be available in more than 75 lakh hectare area in Madhya Pradesh.

The people of Bundelkhand and the state deserve congratulations for this achievement made with the joint efforts of the Central and State Governments.
