Due to the rising number of daily COVID-19 cases reported in Kerala, the state government has decided to impose a complete lockdown. The lockdown will be imposed throughout the state over the weekend.

Kerala has the most active COVID-19 cases in the country, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. With 1.5 lakh active cases as of July 28. According to a government order announced on July 28, the state will be completely shut down on Saturday and Sunday, July 31 and August 1.

In response to the requirements for the NNET, the Kerala government has revised COVID-19 guidelines. This will enable photo studios to open on approved days. In a recent government order, shops selling seeds and fertilizers were also categorized as essential services.

The Economics and Statistics department’s price section also featured an essential category. It has allowed such stores to open on any particular day with the necessary staff. The COVID-19 regulations in Kerala are based on a seven-day average of TPR in Local Self-Government Institutions.

As a result, LSGIs with low TPR will be given some flexibility, while areas with high TPR will face stricter restrictions. According to a new government order, the state will be completely shut down on July 31 and August 1.

Know what all are permitted:

During these 2 days, only food delivery is allowed from 7 am to 7 pm. No takeaway and parcel services.

Essential neighbourhood shops dealing with food, groceries, fruits and vegetables, dairy and milk booths, meat fish outlets shall remain open from 7 am to 7 pm. Home delivery of essential items is encouraged to minimize public movement outside their homes.

The bus travelling long distances, train & air travel shall run as usual. Public transport, private vehicles, taxis will only be allowed to and from airports, railway stations, and bus terminals.

The vehicles will be allowed to commute on displaying valid travel documents or tickets and strictly adhering to covid-19 protocol.

If travelling by road to Kerela one must register himself on the COVID-19 Jagratha portal. This will issue an e-pass from the state police site. Travellers must carry RT-PCR negative reports if not fully vaccinated.

All the state and central government offices and their autonomous bodies, corporations, etc. dealing with emergency and essentials services and covid-19 containment and management duties shall be fully functional.

Kerela Books and Publication Society is allowed to function for printing textbooks.

Patients and their attendants required emergency care and people eligible for vaccination are allowed for minimum movement.

Wedding and housewarming ceremonies shall be allowed only after registering through the COVID-19 Jagratha portal. Construction activities must follow strict social distancing. But such activities must be informed to the nearest police station in advance.
