Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh has the maximum number of 785 tigers in the country, due to which the state got this status again. Madhya Pradesh has once again become a Tiger State. The forest department and all the people involved in the protection of wildlife deserve congratulations, the work of protection of wildlife is very hard and laborious. Protection of wild animals is not possible without the cooperation of the community. Apart from the Tiger State, Madhya Pradesh is also a leader in other areas. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing the International Tigers Day programme at Kushabhau Thackeray Auditorium. Additional Chief Secretary Forest Shri J.N. Kansotiya, Forest Force Chief Shri Ramesh Kumar Gupta, Senior Forest Officers, Wild Life Board members and forest and wildlife lovers were present.

No.of tigers increases from 526 to 785 in four yearsChief Minister Shri Chouhan said that ‘It is a matter of great pleasure that as a result of the cooperation of the people of our state and the untiring efforts of the Forest Department, the number of the jungle king (tiger) in our state has increased from 526 to 785 in four years. I heartily thank and congratulate the people of the entire state for their cooperation in the protection of forests and wildlife. Let us all together take a pledge to conserve nature for future generations on the occasion of International Tiger Day.

Madhya Pradesh is also a leopard and gharial state

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that along with the Tiger State, Madhya Pradesh is also a Leopard and Gharial State. We are also ahead in the number of vultures and wolves. Our efforts to rehabilitate the vultures are on. Along with improving the lives of human beings in the state, the campaign to maintain the existence of wild animals will continue. The work of maintaining the existence of wild animals is possible only with the cooperation of the forest dwellers.

Photo exhibition and screening of films based on wild animals

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan visited the photo exhibition of tigers of Madhya Pradesh. A film focusing on Satpura Tiger Reserve was shown on tiger conservation in the state. The Chief Minister presented mementos to the cast of the film.

Forest department employees honoured for excellent work

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan presented citations to the government servants of the Forest Department for their excellent work. Survival kits were also given to the employees of the Forest Department. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was presented mementos in the programme.

Launch of e-ticketing and mobile app

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also inaugurated the e-ticketing and mobile app of Van Vihar National Park, Bhopal. With this app, tourists will now get the facility to book tickets online from home. Information about various programmes and activities of the Forest Department will be available on the app.

Release of publications

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan released three books including the report of International Wildlife Conference, State Wildlife Action Plan and Fifth Birds Survey Report of Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary (Mandsaur).
