Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the government is continuously working for the empowerment of sisters. 

In the state, the girl child has now become a boon, not a burden. Ladli Behna Yojana will bring new light in the lives of sisters, he said. 

Today the sisters have tied me a rakhi of banana fiber and turmeric knot, I promise that I will never let the pride, honor and respect of the sisters decrease, he said.

Chouhan has said that self. Nandkumar Chauhan was the best leader. He worked for the service of the public throughout his life. The Chief Minister said that today his statue has been unveiled in Shahpur. 

He said we will take forward the works of Nandu Bhaiya and will continue to develop the region and the state with his inspiration. 

He said that Khandwa and Burhanpur will be made ideal districts with development and public welfare in the memory of Nandu Bhaiya.

Chouhan today unveiled the statue of former MP Nandkumar Chouhan at Shahpur in Burhanpur district. In the programme, he transferred scholarship amount of Rs 300 crore to the accounts of 2 lakh 90 thousand students belonging to backward classes with a single click. 

The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of development works worth Rs 77 crore. Along with this, artificial limbs and laptops were distributed to the disabled under the Chief Minister’s Education Promotion Scheme. 

The Chief Minister handed over the keys of tractor and scooty to the sisters associated with the livelihood mission.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the students should study with a lot of heart and move forward. Scholarship and meritorious student scheme has been started by the government for poor students of every category. 

He said under the Medhavi Vidyarthi Yojana, the fees for higher education of talented students are being paid by the government. Scooty will also be given to the girls who get the highest marks in class 12th. Now medical, engineering etc. studies have also been started in Hindi in the state.

Chouhan said that respect for sisters and daughters is highest in the state. I am the real brother of every sister of the state. 

He said I always work for their welfare. The benefit of Ladli Bahna Yojana will be given to those sisters whose annual income of the family is less than 2.5 lakh and less than 5 acres of land. 

He said family means husband, wife and children. Sisters will not have to give any certificate for the benefit of the scheme. Their e-KYC will be filled, for this they will not have to pay any fee. The government itself will give Rs 15 for every KYC. 

Chouhan said that continuous work is being done for the welfare of every section of the society and to change the lives of the people. The area under irrigation has increased to 45 lakh hectare in the state. 

He said the state government will pay the interest amount for the farmers who have become defaulters due to not being able to repay the loan. 

The government is re-launching the “Apply Your Transfer Khud Lagao” scheme for the farmers, he said. 

The Chief Minister congratulated the district for arranging water in every house of Burhanpur district under Har Ghar Jal Yojana. 

He said that Rs 1400 crore plan has been approved to increase the water level of Burhanpur district. 

Once the land is identified in Shahpur, an amount of Rs one crore will be given for the construction of the stadium. He named the Shahpur Municipal Council office after himself.

In the Kanya Vivah Yojana, now the entire amount will be given by check

Chouhan said that on receiving some complaints regarding the material given to the girl under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, it has been decided that instead of the material, the girl will be given a check of Rs 56,000 for the entire amount of the scheme. All liquor vends will be closed in the state from April 1. 

Driving under the influence of alcohol will result in suspension of the driver’s license. 

Initially, the sisters tied a thread made of banana fiber to the Chief Minister Chouhan. 

Along with this, a message of thanks and congratulation was handed over to the Chief Minister on a banana leaf for starting Ladli Bahna Yojana in the state.
