A 50-year-old man was arrested for allegedly axed his wife and injured daughter over trivial issue in Pipariya Kala of Jabalpur district on Thursday.
The accused Prahlad Lodhi, who was hiding in the forest, the police team launched search of him after the matter was reported. The team took the accused in the custody.
On March 8, police station Belkheda received information that Prahlad Lodhi attacked and injured his wife and daughter, both of them are lying injured in their house in village Pipariya Kala.
On basis of this information police station in-charge Belkheda Sukhdev Dhurve, reached the spot alongwith the cops. The cops found Prahlad Lodhi’s wife Tara Bai Lodhi (47) was lying dead while the daughter Ranjana Lodhi (19) was injured.
Ranjana studies in BA second year in the college in Patan told the cops her father Prahlad Lodhi is addicted of drinking and often ask his mother for money for drinking liquor, according to the police.
Whenever my mother denied to give money to the father, he (father) used to beaten up and threatened to sell the agriculture farm, the police said.
Ranjana was admitted in a hospital for treatment, the police said.
Senior officials were informed about the incident, on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Jabalpur Siddharth Bahuguna, SDOP Patan Sarika Pandey, FSL official Dr. Neeta Jain reached the spot.
