Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that maximum facilities will be given to the Divyang players of the state. Apart from providing incentive amount to them for their best performance, priority in government services, training and other incentives will be given in the sports sector along with accommodation facility. Preparations are also being started for the Divyang Panchayat on July 18 at the CM’s residence office. About 2500 Divyangs of the state will participate in this Panchayat, including sportspersons and Divyang talents from other fields. Special efforts are being made for the participation of mentally challenged children.

Chouhan was called on today by Special Olympics Bharat, New Delhi Chairperson Mallika Nadda and Regional Director Shri Dipankar Banerjee and other officials. Nadda also informed about the efforts being made for the last three decades for the encouragement of Divyang sportspersons of Jabalpur and other places of the state. Chouhan appreciated these efforts for the welfare of the Divyang. Chouhan wished the Divyang players who came to meet him for their best performance and offered them sweets with his own hand.

About 7,000 mentally challenged players from 180 countries are participating in the International Sports Competition (Special Olympics) being held in Berlin, Germany, from June 17 to 24. 198 athletes and 57 coaches will go from India to participate in 16 sports in the Special Olympics. 3 women players and 4 women coaches from Madhya Pradesh will leave from Bhopal on 6th June for this Special Olympics. Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel and Social Justice Minister Prem Singh Patel were also present on the occasion of meeting Chief Minister Chouhan.
