Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan held a meeting with the representatives of recognized national political parties in view of the forthcoming state assembly election in Madhya Pradesh.

Rajan said that preparatory activities are going on in all the districts of the state under the second special brief review-2023.

On August 2, the draft voter list will be published at all 64 thousand 100 polling stations in the state and from August 2 to August 31, all BLOs will be present at their respective polling stations and receive applications for addition, deletion, amendment of names in the voter list. Along with these, special camps will be organized on Saturdays and Sundays in the month of August and BLOs will go door-to-door. After this, the final publication of the voter list will take place on October 4.

In the meeting, representatives of national political parties informed about the first level checking of EVMs, VVPATs in all 52 districts, physical verification of polling stations, forms for addition, deletion and modification of names, Deputy District Election Officers, Returning Officers of all 230 assembly constituencies and also information was given about the training of Assistant Returning Officers and State Level Master Trainers. During this, representatives of political parties also gave their suggestions.

Information given about FLC running in the districts

Chief Electoral Officer Rajan gave information about the FLC work of EVMs, VVPATs going on in the districts through the presentation. He said that the first level checking of EVMs, VVPATs is being done by Bharat Electronics Limited Bangalore (BELL), about which political parties have also been informed. So far 50 percent machines have been checked and FLC work has been completed in 8 districts.

Political parties should cooperate in adding the names of youth

Anupam Rajan urged the representatives of political parties to cooperate in adding the names of youths who have completed 18 years of age on October 1, 2023 in the voter list and to appoint booth level agents at all 64 thousand 100 polling stations. He said that the youth who are completing 18 years of age on October 1, 2023 can apply in advance to get their names included in the voter list.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Kumar Kaul, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Rakesh Singh and Basant Kurrey, Bharatiya Janata Party representatives Bhagwandas Sabnani and S.S. Uppal, Indian National Congress representatives JP Dhanopia and Dr. Sanjay Kamle , Bahujan Samaj Party representative C.L. Gautam and Aam Admi Party representative Sumit Chauhan were present in the meeting.
