Chief Minister Shivraj Singh has said that it is the responsibility of the government to make the lives of citizens and save their lives with development activities.

Due to intoxication, body, mind, intellect and family are all harmed. The life of one who is caught in the drug addiction gets ruined.

We will leave no stone unturned to make the society drug free. All sons, daughters, brothers and sisters of the state should unite and take a pledge to make the state drug-free.

Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the state-wide drug de-addiction campaign program started in the state from Gandhi Jayanti.

While administring pledge to the people present to make Madhya Pradesh drug-free, Chouhan said that the government and society together will make the state drug-free.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh has received many awards in the field of cleanliness. We will continuously strive to come first in the country in tree plantation, sex ratio, saving water and de-addiction. The state will make every possible contribution to the drug-free India campaign under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.

Various activities related to drug de-addiction will be conducted in each city and village in the state-wide drug de-addiction campaign.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that such an excise policy would be formulated to control drug activities in the state, so that alcohol is not encouraged and non-drinkers do not face trouble.

Activities like Hookah Lounge will not run on the land of the state. Strictest action will be taken against those involved in drugs and illegal activities.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the youth should not go towards drugs, with this aim, sports and yoga activities will be expanded from village to village in the state.

The state government, along with religious leaders and society, will conduct activities to make the state drug-free.

Efforts will be made in collaboration with the organizations working to get rid of drug addicts.

Chief Minister Chouhan invited the people of the state to Ujjain to participate in the launch program of “Shri Mahakal Lok” by Prime Minister Shri Modi on October 11.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that if you are unable to come to Ujjain, then participate emotionally in the program by lighting lamps in the temples of your area and performing bhajans in this festive atmosphere in your village and city.

The Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Dr. Virendra Kumar said that activities are being jointly conducted by all the Ministries including the Union Home Ministry in the drug free India released under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.

Teachers and students are being made aware of the Navchetna module made for drug de-addiction.

Former Chief Minister Uma Bharti said that the country became independent when the freedom struggle became a mass movement. Similarly, it is necessary to give the form of mass movement to get rid of drugs and alcohol.

For this, the government and society should play their respective roles.

The state government will have to make efforts to implement the system of controlled liquor distribution.

Uma Bharti said that Chief Minister Chouhan is not only the Chief Minister but also a social reformer. Madhya Pradesh will soon emerge as a model in the field of drug de-addiction.

Swami Baba Ramdev, founder of Patanjali Yogpeeth and Patanjali Ayurved said that the enthusiasm of Chief Minister Chouhan is like Himalaya. Under his leadership, a holy Mahayagya for drug de-addiction is being started in the state. It is necessary to encourage sports to save youth from drug addiction.

Madhya Pradesh is a state of sentimental, pious and belief in traditions.

The drug de-addiction campaign starting from here will have an impact across the country.

Shri Kamlesh Patel “Daji” President of Ram Chandra Mission said that a person who adopts drugs considering it as pride, becomes compelled to take intoxicants later.

Along with the governments, it is also the responsibility of the parents to give such an environment to the children so that they do not go towards drugs.

Dr. Chinmoy Pandya, Vice Chancellor, Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Gayatri Parivar, after reciting Gayatri Mantra to the people present, said that it is a matter of concern that crores of youth of India are in the grip of drugs.

This is a very necessary and important campaign from the point of view of the present environment. Dr. Pandya also informed about the activities being run by Gayatri Parivar for drug de-addiction.

National Organization Secretary of Arogya Bharti Dr. Ashok Varshney said that efforts are necessary at all levels to get rid of drugs. He also gave information about de-addiction measures and home remedies. Dr. Rajiv Tiwari, who has given up drugs in the program, shared his experiences.

Chief Minister Chouhan inaugurated the book “The Wisdom Bridge” by Shri Kamlesh Patel ‘Daji’, President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission.

The program also screened a short film on the “Drug Free India” campaign by the Union Ministry of Social Justice.

Chief Minister Chouhan inaugurated the program by performing Kanya Pujan and lighting the lamp. He welcomed the invited guests and religious leaders by presenting them shawls and shriphals.

Former Chief Minister Uma Bharti and Swami Baba Ramdev honoured to Chief Minister Shri Chouhan.

Principal Secretary, Social Justice and Disabled Public Welfare Prateek Hajela informed that public participation would be encouraged by increasing the activism of all sections including voluntary organizations, religious leaders, in the state-wide campaign launched for drug de-addiction.

Pledge-taking programmes, rallies and human chains will be organized to create environment in all cities and villages. In addition, street plays and various competitions will also be held in school colleges.

There is a system of honoring one lakh rupees to the drug free gram panchayat.

In the campaign, activities will be conducted to make the general public aware about the initial symptoms of drug addicts and to make people drug free.

In the campaign, special attention has been given to empower women to keep families drug free.

Social Justice and Disabled Welfare Minister Prem Singh Patel, religious leaders of different societies, social and voluntary organizations, students of schools and colleges participated in large numbers in the state level program held at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal.
