Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the situation in Madhya Pradesh is under control.

Many people have been rescued from Vidisha and Balaghat districts timely, he said.

The administration is fully alert and we have been successful in evacuating the people safely, he reiterated.

Right now the dams are full due to heavy rains in the catchment of Narmada ji, he said.

He said relief camps arrangements is being done in places where there is possibility of flood water might enter in villages.

Due to heavy rainfall in catchment areas of river Narmada where 13 gates of Bargi Dam were opened to release the water, till the water reaches Narmadapuram steps are taken to close the gates of Tawa dam and Barna dam to prevent possibility of huge floods in downstream areas, he said.

The gates on the downstream Omkareshwar dam and Indira Sagar dam are already opened, he said.

The reason to make arrangements of relief camp is to ensure that the villagers are shifted timely, she said.

In Sehore district some villages like Somalwada village are surrounded by flood water therefore relief camps are made to shift the villagers in place of higher altitude instead of waiting for night if the water enters the village and thereafter move from there, he said.
