The earthing system being used in the substations and towers of Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company has received appreciation in the recently organized 13th National Earthing System Conference.

The conference organized by C.B.I.P. of Delhi on the utility of earthing in electric power transmission system.

A paper on earthing system and its utility and implementation was presented by the engineers of Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company in this national conference held in New Delhi last day.
The author of this paper is former Chief Engineer K.K. Murthy and co-authors are Pramod Behare and Deepak Patel, Executive Engineers of Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company posted at Headquarters Jabalpur on Friday.
Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company executive engineer Pramod Behare described all the aspects of the earthing process in Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company very well.

The experts expressed satisfaction over the process of checking the earthing system from time to time by Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company.
It is noteworthy that the earthing system in substations and towers of Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company is functional under the guide lines prescribed by the Central Electricity Authority, which issues guidelines for grounding and earthing of substations of India by including various international standard guide lines.
In which Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company has not only met all the parameters but has been successful in keeping the earth resistance less than 0.5 ohm prescribed for the construction of substations and towers in many rocky and rocky places.
Earthing system strength is checked regularly
Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company has greatly strengthened its earthing system in the last two years, due to which the failure rate of equipment has come down significantly. In some places, the earth resistance has been brought down to 0.1 ohm against the prescribed limit of 0.5 ohm.
Innovating to improve the earthing system in substations. In many of sub stations earthing was provided by boring more than 100 feet, due to which remarkable success was achieved in keeping the earth resistance at these places within the prescribed limit.

These earthing systems are regularly checked through Earth Integrity Test according to the international level guide line, which has yielded positive results. It was told in the seminar that Madhya Pradesh is the main among the states which regularly check the earthing system.
