Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that metro train facility in huge cities of Madhya Pradesh is an important achievement in terms of easy transportation for the citizens.

The continuous work being done in several shifts has been completed. The auspicious time has come for the trial run of metro trains in Indore and Bhopal.

Preparations for the trial run of the metro train in the state’s largest city Indore on September 30 have been completed.

Chief Minister Chouhan through video conference, today sought information from Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation MD Manish Singh and Collector Indore Ilaiah Raja T about the preparations made for the metro train trial run in Indore.

Chief Minister Chouhan, along with regional MP Shankar Lalwani and other public representatives will be present in the trial run programme in Indore.

The trial in Indore will be of 6 kilometers. The metro train will have three coaches. Its total passenger capacity will be 900. In future, 25 metro trains which will carry about seven lakh passengers will operate in Indore.

Trial run in Bhopal on 3rd October

Chief Minister Chouhan also sought information about the preparations for the metro train trial run in Bhopal. Corporation MD Shri Manish Singh said that world class advanced technology has been used for the metro train. Advanced quality coaches have been manufactured. All necessary works have been completed before the metro train trial run in the capital. Preparations are being made for the trial run from Rani Kamalapati Railway Station to Subhash Nagar in Bhopal. Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh and public representatives will be present in the trial run programme in Bhopal.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the staff members involved in the work of starting the metro train facility in Bhopal and Indore deserve appreciation. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains and senior officials were present in the meeting.
