Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh has told that after the departmental inquiry into the irregular merger of employees in newly constituted council Dola, Dumarkachhar, Vanagwan of Annuppur district and City Council Bakho of Shahdol district, Vikas Chandra Mishra, the then in-charge Chief Municipal Officer, Sandeep Singh Urati the then Deputy Engineer and Ajit Rawat the then Deputy Engineer have been dismissed from service. Along with this, instructions have also been given to recover the amount of financial loss. Minister Shri Singh has said that irregularities will not be tolerated at any level.

After departmental enquiry, long-penalty has also been decided against Jaideep Dipankar, Chief Municipal Officer and Rakesh Tiwari, Executive Engineer. Their case is being sent to Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission for advice.

Proportionate amount will be recovered out of the total amount of 2 crore 55 lakhs loss caused to the civic bodies due to the actions of the then in-charge Chief Municipal Officer Mishra and the then Deputy Engineer Sandeep Uraiti. Along with this, out of the total amount of 65 lakhs, a proportionate amount will be recovered from the Deputy Engineer Rawat.

It is noteworthy that Maqbool Khan, the then Joint Director, Urban Administration and Development Division, Shahdol, found responsible after a departmental inquiry on 30 December 2022 for the illegal merger of 3 contract workers and 246 honorarium workers in the Municipal Council, Bakho, Dola, Dumarkachhar and Vanagwan, has been dismissed from service. Along with this, instructions were given to recover the proportionate amount out of the total Rs. 3 crore 20 lakh for the financial loss caused to these bodies by Khan.
