MP Energy Department principal secretary Sanjay Dubey asked the state owned power utilities to prepare to meet the power demand expected to touch 17656 megawatt in Rabi season.

He reviewed the works of the state owned power utilities at the headquarters in Shakti Bhawan at Jabalpur on Thursday.

Dubey instructed the authorities to ensure that adequate power is available from the thermal and hydel power generating units of the state owned MP Power Generating Company, the hydel power obtained from the Indira Sagar Hydroelectric station, Omkareshwar hydroelectric and independent thermal power plants, new and renewable power plants functioning in the state for supply during Rabi Season.

He asked the authorities to generate power in the hydel power stations of the MP Power Transmission Company during night hours.

Dubey said it is the top most priority to ensure continuous and quality power supply for 24 hours to the domestic consumers and 10 hours to the agricultural consumers. The thermal and hydel power stations of the power generating company should generate electricity by making full use of their potential and the power transmission company should maintain the pace of uninterrupted power supply with quality voltage.
