The Gaurav Yatra, taken out from Kalinjar Fort, the birthplace of Durgavati, to take the saga of valor and sacrifice of Veerangana Rani Durgavati, arrived at village Basadi in Katni district assembly on Sunday. On the arrival of the Gaurav Yatra, according to the tribal tradition, the villagers gave a grand welcome to the Gaurav Yatra with Kalash and Deepak. The stories related to the life of Veerangana Rani Durgavati were being propagated with 8×10 size LED wall in the Prachar Rath running along with Veerangana Rani Durgavati Gaurav Yatra at the venue.

Rath Yatra was warmly welcomed in Barhi

The villagers warmly welcomed the Gaurav Rath Yatra on reaching Barhi of Vijayraghavgarh Gram Panchayat via Basadi. During the main program organized in Barhi, Yatra in-charge and former MP Sampatia Uike and Rajya Sabha MP in-charge of Yatra, Sumer Singh Solanki and local people’s representatives participated.

Sampatia Uike, in-charge of the Gaurav Yatra, said that the heroic queen Durgavati became immortal forever by sacrificing herself to protect her self-respect and dignity in the war with Mughal King Akbar. Queen Durgavati constructed a large number of ponds and stepwells for the subjects.

Yatra co-incharge and Rajya Sabha MP Sumer Singh Solanki said that – we need to understand and write our glorious history properly. The gems of our country are many great brave sons like Maharana Pratap, Veer Shivaji, Rani Durgavati, Tantya – maternal uncle, Birsa Munda. If these great men are not remembered, our society cannot survive for long. The courage and bravery with which the brave queen Durgavati took on the Mughals and ran good governance in the state of Gondwana is an example.

Grand welcome of Rani Durgavati Gaurav Yatra in Umaria

Veerangana Rani Durgavati Gaurav Yatra, which started from Chhindwara, reached the Rani Durgavati community building in Umaria under the leadership of Betul MP Shri Durga Das Uike. Shri Durga Das Uike said that Queen Durgavati was the architect of good governance. Rani Durgavati was a symbol of indomitable courage and bravery. The heroic queen Durgavati had defeated Akbar’s forces three times. Then Asaf Khan invaded with a huge army and when it seemed that victory was difficult now. Addressing the program, State President of Scheduled Caste Front, Kalsingh Bhanwar said that five yatras have started from June 22 on the occasion of Rani Durgavati’s sacrifice day. The yatra which started from Chhindwara has reached Umaria today after passing through different villages. This Gaurav Yatra will reach Shahdol on June 27, keeping the saga of the sacrifice of Rani Durgavati among the public.

Addressing the program, MLA Bandhavgarh Shivnarayan Singh said that tribal community has been a proud culture. Rani Durgavati was an efficient administrator, she had taken many important initiatives for the development of her region.
