The Madhya Pradesh High Court directed the doctors of the government hospitals across Madhya Pradesh went on indefinite strike from Wednesday to resume work and treat the patients immediately.

The court issued the directives during hearing of pending PIL related to the doctors strike.

Inderjeet Kunwarpal Singh ex-corporator of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation filed the PIL against the strike called by the doctors in February last.

But then the doctors withdrew their decision since then the PIL is pending in the high court, Petitioner’s counsels Sanjay Agrawal and Anuj Agrawal said.

The doctors observed two hours strike daily from April 12 to May 2, 2023 and declared that they will go on indefinite strike from May 3, 2023, the petitioner counsel said.

A division bench of Chief Justice R Malimath and Justice Vishal Mishra issued the direction during hearing of the PIL.
