The Madhya Pradesh High Court has stayed the sentence of imprisonment of Chattarpur former district collector Shailendra Singh and former Additional Collector and Chief Executive Officer District Panchayat Amar Bahadur Singh in a contempt case concern to a service case of a contractual woman block coordinator.

The court has allowed the appeals filed by the officers challenging the sentence of imprisonment for 7 days and fine of Rs. 2000 each.

The division bench of Chief Justice Ravi Malimath and Justice Vishal Mishra stayed the orders of their conviction during hearing of their appeals on Friday, the court order said.

On Friday, the bench of single judge of Justice GS Ahluwalia directed that contemnor no.1 (Shailendra Singh) and contemnor no.2 (Amar Bahadur Singh) shall undergo simple imprisonment of 7 days with fine of Rs. 2000 each with default simple imprisonment of 2 days, on a contempt petition filed by Block Coordinator of Janpad Panchayat Chattarpur Rachna Dwivedi challege her service matter.
