Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission (MPHRC) has taken cognizance on a news report regarding alleged violation of BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) and FSSAI norms by the certain persons selling bottled water without registration in Bhopal city.

According to the report, such people have got their registration done in the name of grocery shop and are selling bottled water without any standard mark.

In the matter, the Commission has sought an report from the Principal Secretary, Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Mantralaya, Bhopal and the Director, Directorate of Food Safety/Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Bhopal, after conducting inquiry and taking action into the matter.

In another case, MPHC has taken cognizance over alleged supply of dirty and bad smell water by the Municipal Corporation in Sant Hirdaram Nagar area of Bhopal.

In the matter, the Commission has sought reply from the Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Bhopal within three weeks of the action taken after probing the matter.

Similarly, the Commission has taken cognizance of alleged encroachment by some villagers, unknown persons and the Bhopal Municipal Corporation in the premises of ten government schools in Bhopal district, occupying school land and making houses and parks at some places. In the matter, the Commission has sought a reply from the Principal Secretary, Department of School Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Mantralaya, Bhopal after conducting an inquiry into the matter within a month.
