The Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission (MPHRC) has sought reply within three weeks from the Bhopal district collector and Bhopal Municipal Corporation commissioner after investigation and action into the fire incident of Satpura Bhavan at Bhopal.

The MPHRC chairman Manohar Mamtani and member Rajeev Tandon have took cognizance over the incident of fire in the Satpura Bhavan and has sought reply from the concerned officials.

The fire prevention arrangement in the capital Bhopal is depend on old fire engines and 80 percent untrained staff to handle the fire incident.

The staff of Fire Department of Bhopal Municipal Corporation looked helpless in their move to control the fire in Satpura Bhavan of Bhopal city. The reason was untrained staff and short of resources.

The result was the fire spread rapidly and reached the sixth floor. 80 per cent of the fire brigade staff in the municipal corporation are daily wage workers who do not have any basic training.

Taking cognizance of the matter, the Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission has sought a response from the Collector and Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Bhopal regarding the action taken after investigating the matter in three weeks.
