Netflix has been asked by the National Commission to stop streaming the stunningly sized Bombay Begums of Alankrita Shrivastava. Apparently, the scanner of the NCPCR includes two Twitter handles that condemn scenes related to the youngest actor of that film (Aadhya Anand).

“We have sought stopping the streaming of Bombay Begums over the inappropriate portrayal of children in the series,’’ NCPCR chairperson Priyank Kanoongo is quoted as saying. Netflix has been given 24 hours from the time of the notice to remove Bombay Begums from its repertoire.

While nobody from Netflix was willing to say anything about this unexpected evolution, an actor from the series told me: “The improper depiction of children is such a nebular term. Whoever wants to speak about it? Does the Commission know what happens in rave parties which young people attend regularly? We must first tackle these problems in order to begin resolving the problems that plague our society. And we must first show them on the screen to tackle these problems. Okay? It doesn’t make sense to pretend that they don’t exist.”
