Modi's 'not so long' speech, Derek O' Brien's jab at Amit Shah and a record of Trump 'lies'

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak at the annual meeting of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) (August 11). The address will be delivered via video conferencing at 4.30 p.m.

The meeting, which will take place over two days – Wednesday and Thursday – will also feature a speech from special international guest speaker Heng Swee Keat, Singapore’s deputy prime minister and coordinating minister for economic policies.

According to a post on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official website earlier this week, many ministers, senior officials, academics, and prominent representatives of India will attend the CII Annual Meeting 2021.

‘India@75: Government and Business Working Together for Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ is the theme for the CII Annual Meeting 2021. The meeting takes place just days before the country’s 75th Independence Day on August 15.

Meanwhile, it was reported that the CII has decided to collaborate with the Serum Institute of India (SII) in order to broaden the scope of the nationwide coronavirus vaccination campaign (Covid-19). The Serum Institute has agreed to provide additional complimentary vaccines to the pan-India Covid-19 vaccination programme as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The CII is a non-profit trade association and advocacy organisation that “engages academic, business, political, and other leaders of the society to shape regional, global, and industry agendas,” according to its website. The CII is a non-profit organisation that is funded by its members.
