Madhya Pradesh Gau Samwardhan Board executive council chairman Swami Akhileshwaranand Giri, has appealed to the cattle owners not to let cattle stray on the roads.

The cattle on found stray on the road will be taken to a remote cowshed or gothan by the employees of the local body, he said.

Punitive action will be taken against the animal owner for abandoning the milch cattle, he said.

To avoid this unpleasant situation, cow owners should save their cattle from wandering on the roads and cooperate with the administration, he said.

Swami Akhileshwaranand Giri said that domesticated animals are wandering on the roads of rural and urban areas including National and State Highways.

Not only do they get injured when they come under the grip of speeding vehicles on the roads, but people, money and animals all suffer loss in the accident, he said.

Instructions have been given for management of stray animals by making “Gothan” immediately in rural areas, he said.
