In the highlands of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, snowfall took place on Tuesday while the situation continued to remain chilly due to scanty rains in the plains. According to agricultural experts, light rain is considered good for the crop this time. Meteorologists have forecast snow or rain in the Kashmir valley. The weather in the upper areas of Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh is already cold. Things are such that the water got settled inside the pipe. In the national capital Delhi, due to light showers and fog, the weather remained cold. An official of the Meteorological Department said that the minimum temperature was 9.4 degree Celsius in the city. Maximum temperature was 17 degrees. Safdarjung Observatory recorded 4.4 mm in the evening till 5 p.m. Snowfall in Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla and nearby areas Sirmaur, Solan and Lahaul and Spiti. Kashmir’s Kargil was at minus 19.2 degree Celsius. The mercury in Leh was minus 14 degrees Celsius. In Srinagar, the temperature was recorded at minus 3.7 degree Celsius.

Rainfall from Punjab to Haryana
Light rain occurred in many areas of Punjab and Haryana. In Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded temperatures of 6.7 degrees, 6.4 degrees and 9.6 degrees, respectively. In Haryana, Ambala recorded a minimum temperature of 10.2 degrees. Due to western disturbances, there was light showers in some parts of Rajasthan. In Uttar Pradesh, Furastanganj was the coldest place in the state with 3.6 degree temperature.
