The West Central Railway Zone administration has taken strict action against those who prepare rail tickets unauthorized / illegally.

In view of the festive season, the railway administration conducted “Operation Uplabdh” in all three divisions including Bhopal, Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) and Kota (Rajasthan).

This special drive was launched against the touts carrying unauthorized / illegal business of preparing railway tickets.

Under the leadership of Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Railway Protection Force from 20.09.2022 to 05.10.2022.

During this campaign, 33 persons were arrested and 37 live tickets costing Rs.33126, 1851 used tickets costing Rs. 14.73 lakh. In all total 1888 tickets overall cost Rs.15.06 lakh was recovered and a total 26 computer/CPU, 02 laptop and 08 mobile phones were confiscated used in preparing the tickets.

Action was taken against the above arrested persons by registering 33 cases at various Railway Protection Force posts of West Central Railway and taking action under Section 143 of the Railway Act and presenting them in the Railway Court.

Similarly, from the month of January 2022 till now, taking action under Section 143 of the Railway Act against a total of 139 persons, 14176 tickets, total cost of Rs 1.55 crore were recovered, the WCR CPRO said.

The Principal Chief Security Commissioner, West Central Railway, appreciated the action taken by the Railway Protection Force and directed that the RPF will continue to crackdown on those indulge in black marketing of tickets.
