The body of the Captain of Indian Army, Kapil Kundu, martyred​ in violation of the seicefire done by Pakistan, reached his native place located at Gurugram, around 9 on Monday night.

On Tuesday, his dead body will be cremated. Prior to this, Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Army Chief General Bipin Rawat and several Army officers presented a tribute to the body of the Captain wrapped in a tricolor and presented a floral tribute at Palam airport in Delhi. Captain Kapil Kundu, 22, who was posted in BG Sector in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, was scheduled to come home to celebrate his 23rd birthday. In addition to the Kundu in Pakistan, heavy shelling on the Line of Control in Rajouri, three other soldiers of the army have also martyred for our country.

The names of the martyred jawans are Rifleman Shubham Kumar, Rifleman Ram Avtar and Havaldar Roshan Lal. Kundu’s mother said, “Kapil was supposed to come home on his birthday on February 10. He always gave me a surprise, the news of his arrival had only been given to sisters only. ‘ Captain’s family says that he was a person who believed in good life, not in long life. His mother says, ‘he loved an affluent life, he loved nature. He was a great patriot. He used to write poems to show his feelings for the country. He always used to say that my country is at the top of my priority. ‘
