Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the use of solar energy is being continuously promoted in Madhya Pradesh. Many solar power projects are operational in the state. In this sequence, Sanchi, a world heritage monument located in Raisen district, will transform as country’s first solar city.

The completion of various works under the project in Sanchi is almost done. In the coming month, the name of Sanchi will be known as the first solar city of the country.

This will be a special achievement of Madhya Pradesh.

Chouhan was reviewing priority public welfare works in Mantralaya meeting hall today. Members of the Cabinet and senior officers of the departments also participated.

Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh has made great progress in the energy sector. While Madhya Pradesh has become self-sufficient in power generation and supply, the achievements of Madhya Pradesh in the renewable energy sector have attracted the attention of the country. Solar City Sanchi will give Madhya Pradesh a new identity in this field.

Chouhan gave instructions to upgrade hospitals in the health sector, make timely payment of honorarium to health workers, conduct regular meetings of health committees and ensure continuous review to reduce the maternal and newborn mortality rate. Instructions were given by the Medical Education Department to complete the process for 5 percent reservation for the students of government schools in NEET and to fix the dates for the bhoomi-pujan for the approved new medical college.

Chouhan instructed the Tribal Affairs, Scheduled Caste Welfare and Backward Classes Welfare Department to monitor the payment of scholarship amount to the students and necessary facilities in the hostels. Instructions were also given to open new Anganwadi centers to complete the work of applications by eligible women under Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana.

Chouhan instructed to complete the necessary arrangements related to CM Rise schools, to complete the works related to the upgradation of institutions by the Department of Higher Education and Technical Education.

Chouhan reviewed public welfare works related to the departments of Food, Social Justice, Agriculture, Co-operative, Animal Husbandry, Public Health Engineering, Urban Development, Public Works, Forest, Tourism etc. and directed to maintain their implementation level. With regard to the cleanliness survey, instructions were given to be constantly vigilant so that the status of the cities of the state remains on top.

The Chief Minister said that the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has done the work of providing employment to the youth with investment incentives. The work of organising employment fairs should also be done continuously.

Chouhan instructed to review activities related to the operation of Gram Sabhas and supply of essential materials to Tendupatta collectors under PESA rule in tribal-dominated areas in the state. Discussion was also held on the promotion of Millet (Shree Anna), disabled welfare, payment of amount to eligible beneficiaries under Sambal Yojana, Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah-Nikah Yojana, Yuva Annadoot Yojana, Amrit Sarovar, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Chief Minister’s Residential Land Rights Scheme, and making necessary preparations to solve public grievances from May 10 to 25.

Chouhan also gave instructions for regular review of works at the departmental level.
