Union Home and Cooperatives Minister Amit Shah said in a public meeting in Mandla today that an incredible work has been done in transforming Madhya Pradesh from a Bimaru to a progressive state. For this, the efforts of State’s Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan were pivotal.

He endlessly worked to make Madhya Pradesh a developed state through welfare of the poor and backward people. Madhya Pradesh is pioneering to implement PESA law for tribal development. The announcements made in the Tribal Conference in Madhya Pradesh have been fulfilled.

Union Minister Shri Shah said that today, we have got an opportunity to visit the region of Narmada, where one attains salvation. Narmada is the lifeline for Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

Shah described the land of Rani Durgavati as the land of heroes and recalled the sacrifices of Shaheed Raghunath Shah and Shankar Shah. Union Minister Shri Shah said that the memory of the martyrs is inspiring for the youth. A grand memorial has been constructed in Jabalpur. Chief Minister Chouhan deserves congratulations for honouring sacrifices of the tribals.

Amit Shah said that Shri Modi is a Prime Minister who has received the highest civilian honours in the world. The honour is not of an individual but for the entire nation and it’s citizens.

Prime Minister Modi is working to make India self-reliant. The country which was at number 11 in the world during the previous government, is now the 5th largest economy. Development is happening all around. We took action with the surgical strike on the enemy.

The Prime Minister has a clear opinion that no one should tamper with India’s border and army. The central government gave a clear signal to the attackers of Pulwama and Uri that now there is a vigilant government here. It is a government that is improving India’s image in the world. This is a government that promotes daughters. Also, the Central and State Governments together have done important work towards reducing poverty. About 51 schemes were closed in Madhya Pradesh during the previous government.

Union Minister Shah said that the G-20 conference is making the world aware of India’s culture and development. Prime Minister Modi sanctioned cooking gas cylinders to 10 lakh women and Pradhan Mantri Awas to 42 lakh poor. After the crisis of Corona, the lives of 130 crore people, which included 60 crore poor people, were saved through vaccinations. In Madhya Pradesh, the work for welfare of the poor, Dalits and backward people was done. Per person 5 kg free food grains is being provided.

Conserving the interest of tribal population

Union Minister Shah said that special work has been done in the field of tribal development in Madhya Pradesh. Mandla district is making achievements in literacy. The previous government was engaged in appeasement instead of giving rights of water, forest and land. Our government has worked for the welfare of dalits, backward, scheduled castes and tribes. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi took charge, he saluted the floor of the Parliament and took a pledge for the welfare of the backward classes of the society, the poor and the tribes. The Ministry of Tribal Development was created during the tenure of former Prime Minister Atal ji. If we look at the year 2023, there are numerous transformation in the last 9 years. We have worked towards the protection of citizens, their dignity and inclusive development along with the rights of water, forest and land. The Union Home Minister said that 23 castes have been added to the tribes. The birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda was started to be celebrated as Tribal Pride Day. Museums of tribal heroes have been set-up at 10 places in the country. An expenditure of Rs 287 crores is done for Eklavya schools in the country. After independence, an initiative was taken to honour the daughter of a poor Santhali family with the country highest post of the President, which the previous government could not even think of.

Focus on welfare of the poor

Union Minister Shah said that the farmers of Madhya Pradesh are being given the benefit of Kisan Samman Nidhi. Prime Minister Modi approved the supply of tap water to homes through Jal Jeevan Mission, the benefit of which is being availed by 60 lakh families of Madhya Pradesh. The government is also bearing the expenses of health. Poor families are directly benefiting from the distribution of food grains.

Tribal heroes have been honoured in the true sense in Madhya Pradesh – CM Chouhan

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that we will take farmers and people out of the crisis due to lack of rain. Chief Minister Chouhan said that as a result of determination, work is being done for India’s development along with abolition of Article 370 from Kashmir and abolition of triple talaq law. All the announcements made in the interest of the tribal community including implementation of PESA Act in Madhya Pradesh have been fulfilled. The medical college in Mandla will be named after Raja Hriday Shah. Before this, the university in Chhindwara has been named after tribal leader Shankar Shah and the railway station in Bhopal has been named after Rani Kamlapati. This is truly an honour to our tribal heroes and sacrifices.

Efforts made to transform the lives of farmers and women

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the government in Madhya Pradesh is being run like a family. The work we have done has not been done by the previous government. We are providing free ration and housing facilities to the poor. We are ahead in the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The central and state governments together have worked to provide a welfare fund of Rs 12,000 per farmer per year to the farmers. In Madhya Pradesh, the previous government did not send the list of such farmers to the Central Government, due to which the farmers were deprived of benefits. Our government worked to benefit 80 lakh farmers. The previous government had stopped the schemes of Teerth Darshan Yatra, facility of bicycle and laptop for students and maternity assistance for women. Today, work is being done to benefit the sisters of the state through Ladli Bahan Yojana. Gift of Rs 250 on Raksha Bandhan and supply of LPG cylinder for Rs 450 has been given to women under Ujjwala Yojana. Under Ayushman Bharat Yojana, 3 crore 60 lakh beneficiaries in the state have become eligible to avail the benefit of free treatment. In Jal Jeevan Mission, work has been done to provide tap water to every house to reduce the woes of women.
