The Delhi-NCR region saw severe rain, gusts, and thunderstorms on Tuesday (June 1, 2021), which is expected to continue for the next two days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

At 5 a.m., the IMD predicted that light rain/drizzle will fall over and adjacent to isolated portions of the national capital. In the next two hours, a thunderstorm with light to moderate rain and gusty gusts of 40-60 km/h will develop over and around Hissar, Hansi, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri (Haryana) and Rampur, Milak, Moradabad, Billari (UP).

Earlier in the day, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, three degrees lower than typical. In the evening, the highest temperature was 40 degrees Celsius, and the relative humidity was 32%.

Over the following three days, the maximum temperature is expected to be about 38 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the monsoon is projected to arrive in Kerala on June 3rd, and scorching conditions are unlikely to occur across the nation this year due to cyclones, according to a senior IMD official.

“By June 3, the southwest monsoon is likely to arrive in Kerala. As a result, severe rain is likely on June 2-3 “According to RK Jenamani, a senior Scientist at IMD.

The meteorological service predicts scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms across the country during the next four days.
