The state government has taken a decision to amend the norms to get rid of menace of stray animals roaming in public places.

The government has prepared the draft Madhya Pradesh Nagar Palik Vidhi (Sanshodhan) Adhyadesh 2022 to control the stray animals.

The Madhya Pradesh Nagar Palik Vidhi (Sanshodhan) Adhyadesh 2022 is being brought for the control of stray animals in urban bodies.

The ordinance refers to intentional or negligent act to set free or tied up cattle or other animal on the public road or place by any person, that causes injury to any person or damage to property or obstructs public traffic or endangers or causes public nuisance, will be punishable with fine which shall not exceed Rs.1000 as may be prescribed by the state government.

This was informed in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday.

In a recent incidence where a boy riding on a bike was killed after a stray cow hit the bike while the rally of Bhim Rally was taken out in Sagar two days back.

Similarly a couple of months back in Bhind angry local residents drove hundreds of stray cattle into the municipal body premises and locked the gate. The local residents claimed the stray animals were destroying their corps.  

The other decisions taken in the cabinet meeting has decided to implement incentive scheme for crop diversification in view of the increase in the area and production of wheat and paddy in the state, increase in the cost of procurement on support price and environmental imbalance in the state due to the above crops.

The implementation, monitoring of the proposals approved in the scheme will be carried out by the Director, Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development. The scheme will cover non-MSP crops sown in place of wheat and paddy. This will reduce the dependence on chemical fertilizers in the state and environmental protection, biodiversity and sustainable farming will be possible. Along with this, there will be reduction in procurement on support price and dependence on import of pulses and oilseeds will be reduced.

Also the decision was taken to constitute the ‘Madhya Pradesh Natural Agriculture Development Board’ as an independent organization with the financial assistance of the state government in order to increase the spread of natural agriculture in the state and to provide encouragement and cooperation to the farmers with constant guidance.

An apex body headed by the Chief Minister and a task force under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary will be constituted at the state level for monitoring and review of the Madhya Pradesh Natural Agriculture Development Board.
