CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan planted Peepal and Moulshree saplings in Jabalpur.
He said that tree plantation is necessary in order to protect earth for our coming generations. If the environment is not conserved, then the coming generations will have to struggle more to maintain their existence.

Chouhan said this while interacting with media representatives after planting saplings in the premises of Circuit House No. 1 of Jabalpur.

He planted saplings of Peepal and Moulshree along with Pranavayu and Walk in Clean organisations of Jabalpur.

He said that trees gives life to us, they give shelter to many animals along with giving oxygen.

Trees are also helpful in retaining moisture by absorbing water, releasing water drop by drop during the summer.

He called upon the general public to plant saplings on their birthdays, marriage anniversaries and in the virtuous remembrance of parents.

The Peepal planted today is believed to purify environment.

It is also known as shady tree. It also has religious and Ayurvedic significance. Moulshree is a medicinal tree,

it has been used in Ayurveda for centuries.
