The weather patterns have been disturbed in various districts of Madhya Pradesh since 17 March. During this period, there was a hail storm with heavy showers at some places. The reports coming from some areas that celestial lightning also struck. In the same sequence, there were thundershowers in the night except for Tuesday, in some parts of the state, besides the capital Bhopal.

Taking these weather conditions into account, the IMD has issued an orange alert over West MP on Thursday (18 march); over the entirety of MP, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha on Friday, and over Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra on Saturday and Sunday. The advisory urges residents to ‘be prepared for rough weather.

According to the India Meteorological Department, isolated to sporadic rains with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds blowing at 30-40 kph are very likely over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and in-land Maharashtra over the next three days (IMD).

Meteorologist PK Saha said that a western disturbance is currently active in Jammu and Kashmir. Another Western Disturbance lies over Afghanistan and adjoining Pakistan. Due to this, an induced cyclone persists over northwest Rajasthan. Also, an upper air cyclone is active over Vidarbha and adjoining Chhattisgarh.

Due to these four weather systems, the atmosphere of Madhya Pradesh is coming from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. It is cloudy and it is raining with thunder-glow. According to Saha, the Western Disturbance near Pakistan is likely to move beyond North India. Due to this, the weather systems built over Rajasthan and Vidarbha will start to weaken. This will reduce the humidity in the atmosphere from Thursday.

Due to this, the clouds will start to clear and the weather will start to clear. The sky will start to clear due to the clouding of the clouds. This will cause the day temperature to rise. On the other hand, due to the northern winds, the night temperature will also fall.
