Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the welfare of mothers, sisters and daughters is the topmost priority of our government. For this purpose, many welfare schemes are being run in the state.

The state government has taken several steps to make life easier for the girl child.

The Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah Yojana was started with the aim that the daughter, should not be considered a burden by the family and society and their marriage should take place with festivity and gaiety.

Chief Minister virtually participated in the mass marriage ceremony of Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah Yojana in Kusmi of Sidhi district from the office building located at Chief Minister Shri Chouhan’s residence. 132 couple tied the knot in the ceremony.

Chouhan gave his blessings, best wishes and congratulations to the newly married couples.

The Chief Minister said that it is his prayer to God that happiness, prosperity and success should always prevail in the lives of the newly married couples.

Marriage is considered a sanskar in Indian culture. It is the basis of relationships. The newly wedded couple should lead a life with love, affection and intimacy, enhance the honour and prestige of both the families and fulfill their social responsibilities, he said.

Under the Mukhya Mantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, an amount of Rs 49 thousand is being provided to each newly married couple, so that they can get material according to their need and choice to start a household. Chouhan extended best wishes to the newly married daughters with the wish of ‘Mama ki duayan leti ja ja tujhko sukhi sansar mile’.
