Leader of the Lok Janshakti Party, Chirag Paswan met leader Shyam Rajak, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), who speculated in the light of a new political equation in Bihar. On Saturday, the meeting took place in Delhi.

One day before the Paswan meeting, Rajak met Lalu Yadav, RJD’s leader, and there were further specifying the future plans of the LJP leader.

Whether Chirag is invited to join or not in RJD, Rajak said, following Saturday’s meeting,: “Whether it is Chirag Paswan or anyone else that will promote Lohia and Ambedkar ideology, are welcome.”

This develops in the midst of Chirag Paswan’s bitter political struggle with his uncle Pashupati Paras over control of the LJP, established by Ram Vilas Paswan.

Paras has been chosen as the leader of a rebel group in LJP; the Chirag-led faction has responded by removing his uncle from all party positions. Chirag has vowed to defend his father’s reputation. He also wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the induction of Paras into the Union Cabinet as a result of a reshuffle.

Chirag Paswan has accused Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of orchestrating the party’s split and of sabotaging his own party’s chances by sending paras to the Centre.

The rift between Paras and Chirag has been attributed to a number of factors, including the former’s displeasure with his nephew’s decision to leave the BJP-led government. National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the Bihar Assembly polls.
