Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Ladli Laxmi Yojana has given a new dimension to the empowerment of daughters.

He said now Ladli Bahna Yojana is bringing social revolution in the state. This scheme is a campaign to change the lives of women.

He said with the help of financial assistance, women will get respect and love in the family. There was a time when there was discrimination between son and daughter, the mother’s womb was made a slaughterhouse. Social change has come due to social awareness and effective implementation of Ladli Laxmi Yojana.

He said now daughters have become a boon and they are being given opportunities to move forward in every field. Daughters are being of service to the family more than sons. The government has implemented many schemes for the welfare of daughters.

To ensure that the poor parents do not consider the daughter as a burden, marriages of daughters are being conducted under the Chief Minister’’s Kanya Vivah-Nikah Yojana. Meritorious daughters are being given scholarship and free education facility. E-scooty will be given to the girl who tops in the higher secondary examination in the village.

Chouhan attended the Ladli Bahna Mahasammelan at village Mahkhor-Hinauta in Majhauli development block of Sidhi district today. The Chief Minister distributed benefits to beneficiaries of Ladli Lakshmi, Ayushman, Chief Minister’s Residential Land Rights Scheme and women self-help groups.

The Chief Minister announced to make Madwas a tehsil, open a college, make Niwas a sub-tehsil, make Madwas Chowki a police station and announced to upgrade Majhauli Community Health Center to a 50 bedded centre.

The Chief Minister also performed bhoomi-pujan of 79 construction works costing Rs 445 crore 42 lakh and dedicated 39 works costing Rs 24 crore 39 lakh.

Chouhan said that now the times have changed. Women and daughters are moving ahead in every field. Under no circumstances will I allow my sisters to be insulted. Those who raise their eyes towards sisters and daughters will be sent to jail. Application forms of Ladli Bahna Yojana are being filled. More than 1 lakh 58 thousand applications have been filled in Sidhi district. Collector should get the application forms of every eligible sister filled. After examining the applications of this scheme in the month of May, an amount of Rs. 1000 will be released in the accounts of the sisters on June 10.

Chouhan said that tendu leaf collectors will be provided with vessels for holding water, shoes, slippers and umbrellas. Saris will also be provided to sisters making collections. He said that for the development of irrigation in the area, the foundation stone for the construction of a dam on the Gopad River has been laid today. With the Jal Jeevan Mission, clean water will now be supplied from the tap in every house.

Member of Parliament Sidhi Riti Pathak welcomed the Chief Minister and expressed gratitude on behalf of all the sisters of the area for the Ladli Bahna Yojana.

The sisters who were benefited from the scheme expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister by presenting a huge rakhi. MLA Dhauhani Kunwar Singh Tekam said that Chief Minister Chouhan has given many gifts for the development of the area.

The backward area of Dhauhani is developing rapidly. The second phase of the Gond Irrigation Project will provide irrigation facilities to 75 villages in the region.
