A meeting of the Council of Ministers at Mantralaya under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today gave consent to increase the annual income limit for scholarship to Scheduled Caste students from Rs. 6 lakh to Rs. 8 lakh in compliance with the Chief Minister’s announcement. With the hike in the income limit, the students belonging to Scheduled Caste category will be able to get widespread opportunities for receiving education.

The Cabinet ratified the departmental order issued on April 22, 2023 regarding the management of agricultural lands of temples maintained by the government. According to the order, the priests will be able to use the income from the government-maintained temples, which have attached agricultural land up to 10 acres. Priests will be able to use the income from such government-maintained temples, which have more than 10 acres of agricultural land attached to them. Remaining agricultural lands will be auctioned for agricultural purposes by adopting a transparent process while informing the District Collector. The proceeds from the auction will be deposited in the temple’s account.

The Cabinet approved the computerization of 4534 PACS of the state under the Centrally Sponsored Project for the computerization of Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Societies (PACS) implemented by the Union Ministry of Co-operatives. This scheme was approved on February 10, 2023, in the meeting of the Empowered Committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary for review and approval of information technology based projects. As per the recommendation of the Empowered Committee, the Co-operative Department has been authorized to implement the project.

Permission was granted to purchase the necessary hardware in the project from the GeM portal as per the GFR 2017 and other instructions issued by the Central Government. According to the BharatNet Project by the Department of Science and Technology, optical fiber based internet connectivity will be made available at the headquarters of 4534 PACS on priority basis. An estimated expenditure of Rs. 145 crore has been approved for the project, in which Rs. 87 crore is the central share and Rs. 58 crore is the state’s share. The Empowered Committee has been authorized to take necessary decisions for the future implementation of the project.

The Cabinet approved the Central Government’s Integrated Child Protection Scheme “Mission Vatsalya” to be operated in all the districts of the state according to the new norms. The Central Government gave approval to run the Integrated Child Protection Scheme “Mission Vatsalya” according to the new norms from the year 2023-24 for the coming years. From the year 2022-23 to 2025-26, 676 contractual posts sanctioned under the Integrated Child Protection Scheme “Mission Vatsalya” were approved with 3 percent honorarium hike every year and 394 regular posts were approved for continuation.
