Following Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray’s announcement that the state’s Covid-19 lockdown will be prolonged for another 15 days till June 15, the state administration issued a new set of recommendations to follow.

In a social media message to the people of the state, Thackeray warned them not to relax their guard as they prepare for the third wave of the virus.

The directive specified, among other things, that all necessary shops that are now permitted to open between 7 and 11 a.m. may be permitted to open between 7 and 2 p.m.

It further said that in the case of all non-essential shops (stand-alone stores not located within shopping centres or malls), the decision to allow such businesses to open, as well as the time restriction for their operation, may be made by the appropriate Disaster Management Authority.

These, if permitted to operate, shall not be permitted to operate beyond the hours permitted for necessary stores, and shall not be permitted to operate on weekends,” it said. -Delivery of non-essential commodities alongside necessary ones via E-Commerce may be authorised in such areas.

Every day after 3 p.m., mobility will be restricted save for medical and other situations, or for home deliveries permitted under the directive of May 12, 2021.

All government offices in the mentioned districts, with the exception of those directly involved in hazardous work, can operate at a 25% attendance rate. If the concerned HOD requests it, the respective DMA may enable mom to have a higher rate of attendance. These clearances would be given by the Chief Secretary of State of Maharashtra in the MCGM region for GOI and COM establishments.

On weekdays, shops in the agriculture sector may stay open until 2 p.m. However, depending on the necessities of the sowing season and the oncoming monsoon, the respective DMA may extend these durations on weekdays or allow for some time on weekends.

The following limits shall be added to the limits imposed by the ‘Break the Chain’ Orders of 12° May, 2021 in the event of administrative units indicated in ‘A’ above, if the positivity rate is more than 20% or the occupancy of the oxygen beds accessible therein is more than 75%:

The district borders of such districts should be shut, and no influx or outflow of people should be permitted into or out of the district. A person may only enter or leave the district if there is a death in the family or on medical reasons, or if they are doing duties connected to any emergency and/or necessary services linked to COVID 19 management.

The decree further said that there will be no limits on cargo movements or deliveries to businesses or businesses outside of their normal operating hours for the purpose of stock replenishment.

It further stated that home deliveries are acceptable throughout the DMA’s approved timeframe and should be promoted by allowing for extended periods of time.

All existing limits were established by “Break the Chain Orders” dated May 2, 2021, according to the directive.
