Even today agriculture is the most powerful and effective means of employment in the village.

The Madhya Pradesh Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development department is working with dedication to strengthen the country’s economy. State Agriculture Minister Patel was addressing the first roundtable conference of Agricultural Horticulture Technology of IFC at Kushabhau International Convention Center.

He hoped that in today’s conference the discussion on various points to increase the income for the economic empowerment of the farmers would yield positive results. Various sessions were organized in the conference to discuss Food Processing & Machinery, Marketing Linkage, Nursery Development, Post Harvest Management and Modern Technology (Equipment & Tools & Innovations).

ACS Horticulture J.N. Kansotiya ACS Agriculture Ashok Varnwal, Secretary MSME P. Narhari, CEO SRLM LM Belwal, Director Horticulture Nidhi Nivedita, Ag-Tech Solution Companies, Agricultural Scientists, Departmental Officers, Progressive Farmers, Horticulture Officers and technical staff including subject-experts were present in the conference.

While welcoming and congratulating all the participants present in the conference on behalf of the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Minister Patel said the land of India is very pious. This country belongs to the farmers. The conference will definitely be very useful for increasing the income of the farmers and making them self-reliant. Minister Shri Patel said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, have implemented such schemes for the welfare of farmers, so that they get its direct economic benefits.

Patel said that farmers are being given loans on zero percent interest in Madhya Pradesh due to which the farmers have got freedom from the debt of the moneylenders. The state is in the first place in the country by spending an amount of Rs. 4000 crores in the interest of the farmers under Agriculture Infrastructure (AIF). Farmers have benefitted with thousands of crores of rupees by procuring gram, lentils and mustard along with wheat in the state. The daily earning capacity has been increased in the mandis of the state, which has helped in preventing wastage of money and time due to frequent visits of the farmers to the mandis. Its direct benefit has been on the income of the farmers.

Appeal to set up industry

Patel appealed to the participants of the conference from all over the country to set up agro-allied industries in Madhya Pradesh. He said that the state has fertile land, better climate, plenty of irrigation facilities and adequate availability of electricity. There will be full cooperation of the state government in setting up industries.

Agriculture Minister holds discussion with participants

At the conclusion of the inaugural session of the conference, Patel went table-to-table with the participants and discussed the work being done by them. The participants apprised him with the possibilities in the field of processing of horticulture products and gave information about the work being done. He assured everyone that all possible help would be provided to them by the state government.
