Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh is progressing fast, that is why we are celebrating Vikas Parv. Our government has created a new history of development in the state. Before the year 2003, where there used to be one lakh kilometers of dilapidated roads in Madhya Pradesh, today 4 lakh 11 thousand kilometers of good roads have been made and dedicated to the people of the state. Preparations are now being made to start work on new routes like Atal Expressway, Vindhya Expressway, Narmada Expressway in the state. Chief Minister Chouhan was discussing with media representatives after planting saplings in the garden located at Shyamla Hills.

Rural or urban development, progress has been made in all areas in the state

Chief Minister Chouhan said that earlier the irrigation potential of the state was 7.5 lakh hectare, which has been increased to 47 lakh hectare. The foundation laying of new projects is also going on continuously. Foundation laying and dedication of development works worth thousands of crores are being done in the state. Earlier the availability of power used to be 2800 MW, now 28 thousand MW power is being produced. Whether it is rural development or urban development, there is progress in all directions. Buildings of CM Rise School are being constructed in the state, where there used to be 5 medical colleges in the state, now there are 25. These medical colleges are either being built or have been approved. All-round development works in the form of construction of school, college, hospital, Global Skill Park, metro, model ITI buildings are going on at full speed.

The size of state’s GSDP is around Rs 15 lakh crore

Chief Minister Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh is progressing fast. I am happy to inform that the growth rate of the state, which was earlier in minus, is now above 16 percent. I am proud to inform that Madhya Pradesh has achieved 18 percent agriculture growth rate for a continuous decade. Till the year 2003, where 100 metric tonnes of food grains were produced, today 700 metric tonnes of food grains are being produced in Madhya Pradesh.

Earlier the per capita income used to be Rs 11 thousand, today it has become Rs 1 lakh 40 thousand. If we look at the size of GSDP, earlier it was Rs 71 thousand crore, which has now increased to around Rs 15 lakh crore. The contribution of Madhya Pradesh in the country’s GDP used to be only around 3 percent earlier, which has now increased to 4.6 percent.
