The families of 18 villages including 12 villages of Dhar district and 6 villages in Khargone district were shifted after the leakage in the dam under construction on river Karam.

The villagers are shifted to the relief camps created by the administration.

The specifications of the under construction dam is 590-meter-long and 52-meter-high dam of a medium-level irrigation project, has reservoir water capacity of 15 million cubic meter (MCM).

The Army, two helicopters of Air Force, the NDRF and SDRF teams are reportedly on standby.

The senior revenue, police and engineers of water resources department are monitoring the situation.
