Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the government has sought a help from expert IIT Roorkee professor NK Goel and structure expert D Waingankar for solution to the seepage of the under construction dam on Karam river in Dhar district.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh workers helped to vacate the villagers with their cattle, he said.

The 12 villages in Dhar and 6 villages in Khargone districts are vacated due to the dam seepage, he said.

The people are appealed to stay in the accommodation provided by the government, he said.

The state government is committed for safety of the people and is working in this direction, he said.

The control room is set up in Bhopal where the chief secretary and additional chief secretary of water resources and home departments are keeping watch on the developments in Dhar and Khargone districts, he said.

State water resources Minister Tulsi Silawat and local minister Rajvardhan Dattigaon are at the dam site to monitor the work, he said.

The ENC and engineers team is at the dam site to carry the necessary repairs, he said.

The attempt was done to erect a canal to divert the water but due to hard rock it could not be done, Chouhan said.
