New Delhi: Several cases of bank fraud have come up after the lien of diamond trader Neerav Modi and Mehul Choksi, worth Rs 12,600 crore, to PNB. In the latest case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered another case of bank fraud of Rs 515.15 crore on Wednesday. The case has been filed against the RP Infosystem and its director on behalf of the investigating agency. It is worth mentioning that after the disclosure of Rs 1,300 crore scam in the PNB scam case involving Neerav Modi and Gitanjali James owner Mehul Choksi, the total amount of money raised to the bank has increased to Rs 12,600 crore.

Group Chief Risk Officer Appointment
Earlier on Tuesday, PNB has appointed a Group Chief Risk Officer after having a scandal worth billions of rupees. This information is also given to the Bombay Stock Exchange. PNB, while issuing a notification in this regard, wrote, “The Exchange is informed that Mr. AK Pradhan, General Manager has been appointed as the ‘Group’s Chief Risk Officer’. The bank said that this appointment has been made under the SEBI Listing Regulation 2015.

97.85 crores fraud
In addition to Neerav Modi and Mehul Choksi, the CBI had recently filed a case of alleged bank loan fraud of Rs 97.85 crore against Simbhawli Sugars Limited, its Chairman Gurmeet Singh Mann, Deputy General Manager Gurpal Singh and others. Simbhauli Sugars Limited is one of the largest sugar mills in the country. The agency has registered a case against the company’s chief executive officer GSC Rao, CFO Sanjay Taparia, executive director Gursiman Kaur Mann and five non-executive directors. Gurpal Singh is the son-in-law of Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.

Rotomac Owner is in custody 
CBI spokesman Abhishek Dayal had told that the agency searched the premises of the director’s residence, the factory and the corporate and registered offices of Delhi, Hapur and Noida located on his eight places. In addition, the investigating agency has already arrested Rotomac Company owner Vikram Kothari and his son Rahul Kothari in connection with the misappropriation of debt of Rs 3695 crore.
