Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, along with the  saints’ assembly, unveiled an 108-ft statue of Adi Guru Shankaracharya on the Mandhata hillock in Omkareshwar, Khargone district.

This monumental statue has been dedicated to Unity. He laid foundation for Advait Lok to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 2 thousand 200 crore.

Minister for Culture Usha Thakur, along with Swami Avdheshanand Ji Giri Maharaj, Paramatmanand Ji, Swami Swaroopanand Ji, and Swami Teerthanand Ji Maharaj, around 5,000 seers and saints from across the country were present.

The saints were given hospitality in the traditional manner of Keral. Cultural dance troupes from various states presented Shaivite traditions, welcoming everyone to the spiritual hub.

The cultural dances rooted in Sanatan culture infused a spiritual essence into the event venue. The auspicious ceremony of laying the foundation stone for Advait Lok took place on the Mandhata mountain, providing the devottees an opportunity to have spiritual experience.

After the Vedic Yagna, Chief Minister Chouhan greeted the yagna pandits and scholars reciting the Vedas. He said that the statue of Adi Guru Shankaracharya would convey a message of peace and unity to the world.

Following the unveiling ceremony, Shri Chouhan with his wife Sadhna Singh served meals to the saints and scholars. The revered saints blessed Chief Minister Chouhan.Statue of Unity

  • The statue of Acharya Shankar  will be known – Statue of Oneness.
  • The 108-ft -tall statue of Acharya Shankar represents him as child prodigy of 12 years.
  • The statue stands on a 75-ft pedestal.
  • It is installed on a 16-ft lotus made of stone.
  • The statue was carved under the guidance of sculptor Shri Bhagwan Rampure and painter Shri Vasudev Kamath.
  • The statue is made of of 88% copper, 4% zinc, and 8% tin. It weighs 100 tons.
  • It was constructed from a total of 290 panels.
  • High-quality 250-ton stainless steel was used in the construction of the entire substructure.
