Who is Vladimir Lenin?

Vladimir Ilich Ulyanov was born on 22 April 1870 in the city of Symbisch, on the banks of the Volga River. He was good at studies since his childhood and he studied law further. The university was influenced by the revolutionary ideology. Due to “extremist” policies, he was expelled from the university, but he obtained a law degree in 1891 as an external student.

The murder of his revolutionary elder brother had a profound effect on him. His elder brother was associated with the Revolutionary Group. After this, Lenin went to St. Petersburg and became a revolutionary there, for which he was arrested and sent to Siberia to live in exiled life. Here he married Nadzhhada Krupskaya. In 1901, Vladimir Ilich Ulyanov adopted Lenin’s name.

After this, he spent nearly 15 years in Western Europe, where he began to play a key role in the international revolutionary movement and became the leader of the ‘socialists’ faction of the Russian Social Democratic Workers Party.
