School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh has said that there is a need for continuous improvement in the quality of school education.

For this, special attention should be paid to the training of teachers.

He also stressed on providing vocational education to children parallel to their studies in schools.

The School Education Minister was addressing the meeting of departmental officers at the Directorate of Public Instruction in Bhopal today.

Principal Secretary Rashmi Arun Shami was also present on this occasion.

The School Education Minister said that graduate youths in tribal areas should be encouraged to pursue B.Ed. He also gave instructions to prepare a plan for reimbursement of B. Ed. fees of tribal youths.

Minister Singh gave instructions to the departmental officers to prepare a plan for housing arrangements for teachers in rural areas.

Minister Singh asked for the annual day celebrations to be organised with dignity and grandeur in the government higher secondary schools of the state.

The recruitment process of teachers was also discussed in the meeting.

It was told in the meeting that more than 32 thousand teachers have been recruited in the last three years.

These include higher secondary, secondary and primary teachers.

It was also informed in the meeting that more than 2 lakh 42 thousand teachers are working in government schools across the state.

Besides, about 72 thousand 500 guest teachers are also providing their services in government schools in educational work.

Online transfer policy was also discussed in the meeting.

Scientific and cultural activities

It was informed in the meeting that Balrang, Mowgli Bal Utsav, Kalidas Samaroh, International Yoga Day, Mass Surya Namaskar and Anugunj programmes are being organised every year to promote other activities among the children along with studies.

More than 20 lakh students are participating in these. In the meeting, the School Education Minister gave instructions for the immediate recruitment on the vacant posts of sports teachers.

Information about senior post incharge principal cadre and senior post incharge teacher cadre was also given in the meeting.

It was told in the meeting that Madhya Pradesh stood third in the medal tally of states in national level sports competitions.

This year children have won 120 medals in the national sports competition. Information about Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, vocational education, skill career guidance was also given in the meeting.

ICT Lab in Government Schools

Information about the ICT@school project of the Central Government was also given in the meeting. 2 thousand 516 labs have been built in the year 2022-23.

This year, all types of approvals have been issued for one thousand 79 labs in 40 districts.

Ten computers, printers and UPS are available in this lab.

The School Education Minister gave instructions to prepare a plan on PPP model to provide training to children about computer.

Many national level NGOs are working to improve the quality of school education in the state.

These NGOs gave presentations before the School Education Minister. Commissioner of Public Instruction Anubha Srivastava and departmental officers were present in the meeting.
